Hiroki Tashiro “Angelus #1” 2019 Camphor tree 210×190×60 One day, Yukinori Maeda appears in the atelier of Hiroki Tashiro, and picks up the work rolled on the floor. Angelus series which began with what Maeda muttered as “Looks like an angel”. The origin of the word “Angel” is Greek, Angelus for “Messenger”. When Tashiro feels to making work, a sense of touching an image floating in the universe somewhere, between the presence of trees and the swaying image, superimposed on the angel, to express a form that resonates with the heart.
